MONROE DETECTIVE ACTIVITY LEADS TO DRUG BUST AND MULTIPLE ARRESTS
Posted by Monroe County Detective Tommy Jones:
On February 2, 2026, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office detectives were working two cases involving stolen property when they observed a silver sedan turning around in the middle of the roadway on Countryside Road in Madisonville.
A registration check revealed the tag did not match the vehicle, and a traffic stop was initiated. During the stop, detectives determined the driver was operating the vehicle on a suspended license. A passenger in the vehicle was also found to be on active state probation.
With consent, detectives searched a small bag belonging to the passenger and located narcotics inside. In total, approximately 13.8 grams of methamphetamine were seized. Both individuals were arrested.
After the traffic stop, detectives continued their investigations and recovered a pearl-handled .38 special firearm that had been reported stolen out of Philadelphia, Tennessee. Detectives later responded to a separate location and recovered stolen building materials.
The firearm and building materials were separate incidents and not related to the traffic stop conducted earlier.
We appreciate the continued efforts of our detectives in removing illegal drugs from our community and recovering stolen property.
