More information has been released about the shooting incident Sunday which led to the death of a South Roane County man.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Miles Ledbetter Junior was shot and killed allegedly after an altercation between him and two others at the corner of Man’s Hollow Road and Raby Hollow Road. The Sheriff said that an altercation between Ledbetter and two others, who have not yet been identified, stated that Ledbetter attempted to run over them, so a shot was fired through the windshield striking Ledbetter in the head and killing him.

The investigation is continuing at this time and no one has been arrested. Miles Ledbetter Jr, age 44 ran for County Executive back in 2010 and was unsuccessful.  He also had a recent encounter with law enforcement in which he was just released from the jail days before this incident.
