MORGAN COUNTY REPORTS $400,000 IN FLOOD DAMAGE
According to the Morgan County Emergency Management Agency Director, the county will be turning in approximately $400,000 total in flood damage repairs. Director Jody Zorsch that $272,000 worth of damages will be turned in to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) with an additional $130,000 being turned in to FEMA in the upcoming week. She says it’s the first step in the reimbursement process through a Presidential declaration for the state of Tennessee. Initial surveys of the damage sites have been turned in. Zorsch says that it’s up to FEMA to send in teams for verification. Some culverts have collapsed since the initial assessment. Damage was reported areas which include the Oakdale and Sunbright communities.
