MORGAN WALLEN AND THEO VON VISIT EAST TN FOOD BANK

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Volunteers had some extra hands on deck this week while loading up food and supplies for East Tennesseans affected by Helene.

Country music star Morgan Wallen and comedian Theo Von met with the volunteers of the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee on Thursday morning. Also on hand to help were 14 members of the University of Tennessee baseball team and their coach, Tony Vitello.

The group met alongside Kingston Pike to load up six truckloads of water, food, and supplies for the people displaced by Helene.

Second Harvest said it has sent more than 100,000 meals to feed the families and first responders in the affected counties.

“We are so grateful to the Morgan Wallen Foundation for this partnership that will make a huge difference for our neighbors recovering from the storm,” Second Harvest posted. “Thank you to Morgan Wallen, Theo Von, Morgan’s band “The Mechanics,” 14 University of Tennessee, Knoxville baseball players (along with Head Coach Tony Vitello)…drawing attention to what’s needed: Help After Helene.”

Wallen recently donated $500,000 through his foundation to the American Red Cross to help storm victims recover from the devastation.
