MOTORCYCLE CRASH IN OAK RIDGE LEAVES ONE SERIOUSLY INJURED
Around 8:25 Tuesday evening, Oak Ridge police and fire personnel responded to a motorcycle crash on East Tennessee Avenue at the intersection of California Avenue. Witnesses told first responders a man lost control of the motorcycle he was riding before it crashed into a parked car on the side of the road.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Methodist Medical Center by ambulance, then taken by LifeStar to U.T. Medical Center where he was treated and later released. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
While emergency crews responded to the crash and cleared the scene, a small section of road at East Tennessee and California avenues had to be closed. Officers reopened the road within about two hours.
