MOTORCYCLIST KILLED IN I-40 WRECK IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY IDENTIFIED
A 61-year-old Tennessee woman driving a motorcycle was killed last night around 8 pm on I-40 at mile marker 336.8 in Cumberland County.
THP reports Helene McGarvey was riding her 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle in the eastbound lane of I-40 when she crashed head-on into a 2013 Ford pickup truck driven by 45-year-old Daniel Miller.
Miller was driving the wrong way heading west in the eastbound lane. Miller was not injured in the crash. According to the THP report, charges are pending against Daniel Miller.
The eastbound lanes of the interstate were closed for almost 6 hours while authorities processed the crash scene.
