NATIONWIDE RECALL ON PEANUT BUTTER BRANDS INCLUDES TENNESSEE

Ventura Foods LLC, based in Los Angeles, California, initiated a voluntary recall on April 30, 2025, for certain single-serve creamy peanut butter products and peanut butter with jelly or jam combo packs due to the potential presence of foreign material—specifically pieces of blue plastic discovered in a production filter. The recall, which remains ongoing as of February 2026, was classified by the FDA as Class II on February 12, 2026, indicating a risk of temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, though the probability of serious issues is considered remote. The affected products include:

  • Creamy peanut butter in 0.75 oz and 0.5 oz portions (distributed by US Foods and DYMA Brands, among others), with various specific lot codes (e.g., under recall numbers H-0502-2026), totaling over 17,000 cases of 0.75 oz packs, about 4,500 cases of 0.5 oz packs, and some 1.12 oz packs.
  • Peanut butter (1.12 oz) paired with grape jelly (1 oz) in 2.12 oz twin packs (Poco Pac, distributed by DYMA Brands), with certain lot codes under H-0503-2026, affecting around 929 cases.
  • Peanut butter (1.12 oz) paired with strawberry jam (1 oz) in similar 2.12 oz packs, under H-0504-2026, impacting about 379 cases.
They are distributed under labels such as:

  • Flavor Fresh Peanut Butter (e.g., 21g/0.75 oz portions, distributed by DYMA Brands)
  • House Recipe Creamy Peanut Butter (e.g., by Sysco Corporation)
  • Katy’s Kitchen Smooth Peanut Butter (marketed by Independent Marketing Alliance)
  • US Foods distributed creamy peanut butter
  • Gordon Food Service Peanut Butter Creamy
  • DYMA Brands / Poco Pac branded items, including standalone peanut butter (0.5 oz, 0.75 oz, 1.12 oz) and the combo packs: Creamy Peanut Butter (1.12 oz) with Grape Jelly (1 oz) or Strawberry Jam (1 oz) in 2.12 oz twin packs

These items were shipped to 40 states across the U.S., including Tennessee. No press release was issued for this recall, and it was initially notified via letter to consignees. Consumers who may have these products—often in foodservice or private-label settings—should check lot codes against the FDA’s enforcement report and avoid consumption if they match the affected ones.
