NEWS UPDATE ON MIDTOWN BODY SHOP SHOOTINGS

Roane County, TN- Dudley Evans spoke with Sheriff Jack Stockton this morning where he was told there is not going to be a formal press release from the Sheriff’s Office due to the fact that several agencies are involved in the investigation.

In an update on last Thursday’s fatal shooting at the Midtown Body Shop, the owner, Rocky King was shot in the head and was released from the hospital this past weekend. The shooter was identified as Brian Wilson.  Rocky’s daughter, who was married to the shooter at one time, was also shot and is still in UT Medical Center in serious but stable condition as of now.

The third person shot was identified as Amanda Weaver who was unresponsive at the scene and died from her injuries.

According to Sheriff Stockton, Brian Wilson went to the Midtown Auto Body Shop allegedly to seek vengeance.  When he entered the establishment following an altercation, he opened fire striking the three victims.  He then fled the building and was located behind the establishment in an area on DogWood Lane and Old Highway 70 where he was confronted by a THP trooper. Wilson allegedly pointed a gun at the Trooper, who then shot Wilson.

According to Sheriff Stockton, Wilson was airlifted to UT Medical Center where he still remains in serious but stable condition under security by the Sheriff’s Office.
