NINE SOLDIERS CONFIRMED DEAD AFTER TWO BLACKHAWKS CRASH

FORT CAMPBELL, KY- Wednesday night around 10 PM, two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) helicopters crashed in Trigg County, Kentucky. Fort Campbell officials have confirmed nine crew members died as a result.

The crewmembers were flying two HH60 Blackhawk helicopters during a routine training mission when the incident occurred.

Kentucky State Police stated the two Blackhawks crashed in a field area and no residential damage has been reported. A perimeter was established around the debris field and the few residents in the area were asked to evacuate.
