NWS CONFIRMS 2 TORNADOES IN BLOUNT COUNTY FRIDAY AFTERNOON
The National Weather Service confirmed that two tornadoes touched down in Blount County Friday. Notices about strong winds, rain and funnel clouds began appearing on social media in the afternoon. A Meteorological team from the NWS in Morristown arrived in the area Saturday morning and made the determination that a possible landspout had cause minor damage near Louisville and that an EF0 tornado had touched down off Wilkinson Pike near the Pleasant Hill Vineyards in Maryville. No injuries were reported.
