OAK RIDGE MAN CONVICTED OF ATTEMPTED VOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER

Oak Ridge, Tennessee – Following an investigation by the Oak Ridge Police Department, indictments were issued by the Anderson County Grand Jury on June 4, 2024, against Kevin Dwayne Steen, Sr., age 59, for Attempted First-Degree Murder, Possession of Weapon – Convicted Felon, Possession of Firearm During Commission of Dangerous Felony, Reckless Endangerment – Deadly Weapon Involved, Tampering with Evidence, Maintain Dwelling, Possession of Schedule II (Cocaine) for Resale> .5 grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Resisting Arrest. Steen remained out on bond after the initial incident before his bond was revoked on December 9, 2024.
On June 30, 2025 after a weeklong trial, Assistant District Attorney Kevin J. Allen, obtained a conviction of Attempted Voluntary Manslaughter, Possession of Weapon – Convicted Felon (Violent), Reckless Endangerment – Deadly Weapon, Tampering with Evidence, Maintain Dwelling, Possession of Schedule II (Cocaine) for Resale> .5 grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, where the Defendant shot at a woman after a verbal argument ensued on or about July 30, 2023. A Sentencing Hearing has been set for September 29, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in Criminal Court.
