OAK RIDGE MAN SENTENCED TO 48 YEARS FOR ATTEMPTED VOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER

Clinton, Tennessee – September 29, 2025, Judge Ryan M. Spitzer sentenced Defendant Kevin Dewayne Steen, Sr. age 60, to serve 48-years in prison on Attempted Voluntary Manslaughter, Possession of Weapon by Convicted Felon, Reckless Endangerment – Deadly Weapon Involved, Tampering with Evidence, Maintain Dwelling for Drug Use, Possession of Schedule II (Cocaine) for Resale > .5 grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Steen had been found guilty in a jury trial in June of 2025.
During the Sentencing Hearing, the prosecutor argued for the maximum sentence along with consecutive sentencing.
This case was investigated by the Oak Ridge Police Department. General Clark would like to thank the Oak Ridge Police Department, Assistant District Attorney General Kevin J. Allen, Judge Ryan M. Spitzer, and Assistant Victim/Witness Coordinator Kaitlyn Norris for their exceptional work during the investigation and prosecution of this case.
