OAK RIDGE P.D. BEGINS INTERNAL INVESTIGATION AFTER TRAFFIC STOP INCIDENT

From the Oak Ridge Police Department:

The Oak Ridge Police Department is aware of videos circulating on social media that show an officer taking a photo of a woman during a traffic stop and making comments to two other officers on scene about sending it to a supervisor. We have initiated an internal investigation into this incident, which occurred on November 2, 2024.
The Oak Ridge Police Department does not condone this type of behavior and holds our officers to the highest standards of professionalism. While no formal complaint was filed in this matter, we take all concerns from our community seriously and are committed to a thorough review.
We would also like to remind the public that anyone wishing to file a formal complaint with the ORPD may do so by calling (865) 425-4399 and requesting to speak with a supervisor, or by visiting ORPD Headquarters at the Oak Ridge Municipal Building, 200 S. Tulane Avenue.
