OFFICERS INVESTIGATE BURGLARY ON CEDAR RIDGE COURT

While patrolling the South side of Fairfield Glade, Deputy Tracie Burgess, Officer Nash, and Officer-in-training Roberts were called by the Fairfield Glade Police Office and asked to respond to Cedar Ridge Court for a burglary that had taken place.

Upon arriving they made contact with the daughter of the homeowner who invited the officers in and walked them around the house to show what was missing. Upon entering the home, they were led to the back left corner of the home where the daughter of the homeowner pointed out Hardee’s food wrappers in the trash can and a block of gouda cheese in the fridge.

In an adjacent room, someone laid sheets over the couch and an adjacent loveseat as a makeshift bed. There was also a chair that had towels draped over the armrests with a towel in the seat and in the middle of the den was a step stool toolbox that was covered in webs and empty.

Outside the den was a wooden dining chair that the daughter said she had never seen before. Officer Nash asked her if she knew of anyone who had a key and if she knew everyone who had been in the house recently. She responded that she did have a key as well as her mother and the realtor in charge of selling the house. However, she also said there are no cameras inside or outside.

Officer Roberts went to the attic to check for the possibility of any stolen items or to locate any person in the Attic who was not supposed to be there. Once the attic was secured, Deputy Burgess and Officer Nash proceeded around to the rear of the property to clear the crawl space.

After checking more rooms of the home, Captain Rosser placed a trail camera on a tree in the front yard of the property in the hopes of catching anyone entering or exiting the house.

The officers determined that someone had entered the home and two items, a glass music box and a birdcage-shaped music box of indeterminate value, were taken.

The neighbors were questioned but were unable to provide any pertinent information to the investigation.

Currently, there are no suspects and no charges.
