An Oliver Springs police cruiser was involved in an accident Thursday afternoon (7/18/2024) in downtown Oliver Springs.  Officer Steven Carroll crashed into another vehicle at the four-way stop in downtown Oliver Springs slightly injuring Carroll and doing damage to the patrol car as well.
The accident happened as the 2 cars crashed head-on at the intersection.

The THP is investigating the crash and Police Chief David Laxton stated the other driver not immediately identified was not injured but could face charges after being given a field sobriety test at the scene, but according to the Chief the police officer was at fault in the accident
