Rockwood, TN- One person has died as a result of a head-on crash east of Rockwood on Highway 70 (Roane State Highway) at the entrance to College Grove Estates. The accident happened around 7:20 (Eastern time) Wednesday evening. Rockwood Police and Fire responded and upon arrival saw both cars in the eastbound lanes and 2 female drivers who had to be extracted from the damaged cars. Both drivers were in very serious condition and were the only occupants in the two vehicles.

Both drivers were taken by ambulances to Midtown where they were flown to UT Medical Center where one of the drivers died.
