ONGOING WOES FOR JAMESTOWN REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

If you live in Fentress County and you need emergency care, forget about going to Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Technically, the hospital is open, but they’re not admitting anyone or seeing patients in the emergency room.

Fentress County Executive Jimmy Johnson says the county’s only hospital is out of stock on many of the supplies they need to function. “For the safety of the residents of Fentress County, they thought it would be best to go into diversion mode,” Johnson said.

Diversion mode for JRMC means sending patients as much as an hour away, to Cookeville, Crossville or Livingston.

A spokesman for Rennova, which owns the facility, said the company has no plans to close JRMC or either of its other two hospitals in Jellico and Oneida.
