ONLINE POST SPARKS CONFUSION OVER FARM BUREAU STORM DAMAGE COVERAGE IN TENNESSEE
A viral social media post claiming that Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee is broadly excluding storm damage from its homeowners policies has sparked widespread concern among policyholders. However, company officials clarify that the claim misrepresents how the endorsement is applied.
The controversy began after a recent Facebook post gained momentum. The author alleged that Farm Bureau was quietly stripping storm damage coverage across the state and urged policyholders to switch insurers immediately.
FARM BUREAU CLARIFIES COVERAGE
We reached out to Farm Bureau of Tennessee, who clarified that the storm damage exclusion shown in the circulating screenshot is an endorsement specific to individual policy risk assessments, not a blanket policy change affecting all policyholders.
“The exclusion provided applies only to specific individual policies; it is not included on every Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee property policy,” a spokesperson said.
