The chance of showers and a few thunderstorms will continue on Tuesday but it will be cooler than normal for mid-august with a high only in the mid-70s for the plateau. The chance of rain goes down to 50% Wednesday and it will be warmer with a high around 82 degrees. More showers and thunderstorms are expected later in the week and right on into the weekend. Tropical storm Fred made landfall today around Apalachicola Florida with winds gusting to 73 miles per hour, it will bring severe thunderstorms to the Carolinas on Tuesday but the worst of Fred will pass well to our East.
