OVER 10,000 VEC CUSTOMERS IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY TO EXPERIENCE PLANNED POWER OUTAGE
(As of 11 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2023, VEC has called off this planned power outage. It will be rescheduled at a later time)
VEC officials say there will be a planned power outage tomorrow night (Saturday, October 14, 2023) beginning at 10 p.m. Central time. The outage is expected to last about 8 hours. TDOT will be moving two transmission lines during the outage as part of the Highway 127 project. In addition, Crossville Feeder 244 will have a partial outage. This outage will affect about 9,559 members. All affected members are being notified.

Lantana Road
Vandever Road
Big Spring Gap
Valley View
Dunbar Road
All of Lake Tansi
Affected Areas – Crossville Substation (Partial Outage)
Highway 127 South
Brookhaven
Park Trace
Breckenridge
Vandever Road from Highway 127 side
Crosswinds Blvd.
Southwood Drive
In addition to these outages, there are also two brief outages planned for the Crab Orchard substation. The first outage in Crab Orchard will be tomorrow night (Saturday, October 14, 2023) beginning at 10 p.m. Central and ending 30 minutes later. The second outage in Crab Orchard will be Sunday morning, October 15, 2023, beginning at 5:30 a.m. and ending at 6 a.m.
OUTAGE TIPS
- Keep freezers and refrigerators closed.
- Do not use a gas stove or gas oven to heat your home.
- Have alternate plans for refrigerating medicines or using power-dependent medical devices.
