OVER 260 ANIMALS RESCUED FROM GEORGIA HOME

In Trenton, Georgia, Nathaniel Levon Curington, 44, and Aimee Renee Curington, 45, were arrested and charged with seven counts of felony animal cruelty after nearly 260 animals were discovered in their Sells Lane home in an extreme state of neglect. The Georgia Department of Agriculture, alongside the Dade County Sheriff’s Office, executed a joint inspection warrant, leading to the rescue of the animals, which included Pomeranians, French bulldogs, and chows, some as young as 8 weeks and others up to 14 years old.

The animals, many in poor health and some deceased, were found in a home described as severely neglected, with feces piled high and dogs unable to move freely. Multiple agencies, including Luck’s Rescue, Catoosa County Animal Control, and veterinary services, worked tirelessly to provide care and rehome the animals, with 71 dogs currently under Catoosa’s care awaiting medical clearance.

This operation, two years in the making, was prompted by neighbor complaints and is the fifth animal hoarding case in the area in two weeks, marking it as the most severe. Local shelters are now seeking public assistance with grooming, washing, and resources to manage the sudden influx.

The Curingtons are held at Dade County Jail awaiting a bond hearing, with officials anticipating additional cruelty charges.
