OZZY OSBOURNE PASSES AWAY AT AGE 76

Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic “Prince of Darkness” and frontman of Black Sabbath, passed away at 76 on July 22, 2025, as confirmed by his family, who noted he was surrounded by love at the time of his death. No specific cause was disclosed, but Osbourne had faced significant health challenges, including Parkinson’s disease diagnosed in 2003, a near-fatal quad bike accident that same year, and a 2019 fall that worsened his injuries, requiring multiple surgeries.
His death came less than three weeks after his final performance on July 5, 2025, at the “Back to the Beginning” concert in Birmingham, where he reunited with Black Sabbath’s original lineup for the first time since 2005, performing a four-song set seated on a bat-themed throne alongside a star-studded lineup including Metallica and Guns N’ Roses.
Born John Michael Osbourne in 1948 in Aston, Birmingham, to a working-class family, he endured a tough childhood marked by poverty and abuse, which influenced Black Sabbath’s groundbreaking heavy metal sound, with seminal albums like *Paranoid* (1970) and *Master of Reality* (1971). Fired from Black Sabbath in 1979 due to substance abuse, Osbourne launched a successful solo career with albums like *Blizzard of Ozz* (1980) and later gained fame through the reality show *The Osbournes* (2002–2005).
Despite notorious incidents, such as biting the head off a bat in 1982, and personal struggles, Osbourne’s legacy as a heavy metal pioneer and cultural icon endures, marked by his resilience, theatrical stage presence, and deep connection with fans.
