PATROL CAR HIT WHILE OFFICER INSIDE

On Sunday morning, at approximately 6:30 AM, two units were out assisting a disabled tractor-trailer on interstate 40. Officer Miller of the Lebanon Police Department was in his patrol unit when it was struck by another vehicle, driven by Jesus Ortega (33, Sparta). Officer Miller sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. Ortega was arrested for driving on a revoked license by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Officer Miller has since been released from the hospital and is recuperating.
