Paul Wayne Peck, affectionately known as “Papaw” to everyone, age 87 of Oak Ridge, gained his wings on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at his home with his family by his side.

He was born August 13, 1937 in Washington County, Virgina, son to the late Woodrow and Gladys Peck. Upon graduation from Oliver Springs High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. He retired from Amerigas and later drove a school bus for Oak Ridge City Schools and a van for Kingston Academy. Paul loved music and was a talented singer. In the past, he has been a member of several local bands but most recently sang karaoke wherever he could. He grew up across from Mt. Pisgah where they attended church until he moved.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson Peck and Gladys Rebecca Smith Peck; son, Gary Wayne Peck; daughter, Kimberly Reger Mohler; brother, Joe B. Peck.

Survivors include his long-time friend, caregiver, and companion of 32 years, Betty Sue Hackney; brothers, Gregory Peck and wife Sandee, Ronald Peck and wife Yvonne; sisters, Lois Peck Dennis, Anne Brewer, Donna Mullins, and Gail Johnson; daughters, Brenda Norton Grant and Lisa Reger Ragusa; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Premier Sharp Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, December 19, 2024 with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
