PEDESTRIAN DIES LAST NIGHT AFTER BEING STRUCK BY TRUCK IN KNOXVILLE

Knoxville, TN- On Saturday night around 10:30 PM Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a crash involving two pedestrians at the intersection of N. Broadway and Grainger Avenue.
Based on the preliminary investigation, a pickup truck was traveling south on N. Broadway towards the exit to Hall of Fame Drive when it struck two pedestrians who were crossing N. Broadway. The pedestrians, one man and one woman, were transported to the UT Medical Center. The female victim did not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead at UTMC.
The driver of the truck was identified as Kenyan Warren, age 43, who was charged with vehicular homicide and DUI. Warren has since been booked into the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on those charges.
The crash remains under investigation by KPD crash reconstruction personnel.
