Philip Erwin Isham, 82

Mr. Philip Erwin Isham, age 82 of Harriman, entered the kingdom of his Savior on July 18, 2026, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Born to George and Frances Isham on November 7, 1943, Philip was the youngest of 4 Isham boys. The Isham family instilled a work ethic that was unmatched. Philip’s professional career spanned work in the auto industry in Detroit, Knoxville, and eventually retirement from the Department of Energy and Y-12 nuclear plants. He was a member of the South Gate Masonic lodge.

Whether you knew him as Phil, Hot Rod, Pops, Uncle Phil, or Grandpa, first and foremost you knew him as a devout follower of Jesus Christ. Philip was a long-time member of the New Life Church of God in Harriman, TN. After attending services in person was no longer a possibility, he enjoyed the virtual services and fellowship with his family and friends. He saw every day as an opportunity to share the Good News and grow in his faith.

While his family will miss him greatly, they take comfort in knowing his place on this earth was temporary. He is now home.

The family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to all his doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and caregivers over the last 7 years. The illness may have been difficult but the care they provided made his time as peaceful as possible.

He is preceded in death by his parents: George Washington Isham & Frances Irene Duncan Isham; granddaughter: Allena Scott Isham; and siblings: Bobby Jack Isham, Jerry Allen Isham, Danny Harold Isham, and Phyllis H. Isham.

He is survived by:

Sons: Mark Isham (Teresa), Scott Isham (Leigh Anne)

Grandchildren: Reiley Isham, Cindy Edwards

Great Grandchild: Brooklyn Edwards

Nieces & Nephews: Robbie Weiksner (Pete), Debbie Ives (Bill), Dale Isham (Sherri), Doug Isham (Beth), Donna Dodson (David), Tim Isham, Melody Alkarim, Cindy Isham, and Danny Isham

along with a host of other extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 21st, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm ET with Pete Weiksner officiating. On Wednesday, July 22nd, 2026, a masonic service will begin at 2:00 pm ET at Evans Mortuary, followed by a graveside and committal service in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood at 2:30 pm ET. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mr. Philip Erwin Isham.
