Phyllis Gene Gutowski, age 83, of Carthage, formerly of Rockwood, passed away May 1, 2021 at the Riverview Medical Center in Carthage. She was born on April 28, 1938 in Lexington, Kentucky. She worked various jobs throughout her life but enjoyed her time as a homemaker. She took great pride in serving on the Roane County Election Committee. She was preceded in death by her husband: Donald Gutowski; son: David Gutowski; and parents: Camden & Anna Dean. She is survived by her daughter: Debbie Gutowski-Fuller (Steve); grandchildren: Danny Gutowski (Heidi), Zachary Tongate (Jessica), Blake Tongate (Anna), Madison Tongate, and Jordan Tongate; and great-grandchildren: Stella Tongate, Lyla Tongate, and Carson Tongate. The family will receive friends Friday, May 7, 2021 from 1 until 2 p.m. eastern in the chapel of Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Graveside and interment service will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood.
