Phyllis Humphreys Shipwash, age 78, of Ten Mile, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Roane Medical Center.  She was born December 11, 1945 in Roane County where she has remained a Roane County resident her entire life.

Phyllis was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.  She was a retired Teachers Assistant from Midway Elementary School.

She loved her family dearly and treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.  Her special caregiver was her precious grandson, Jacob Viar.

Preceded in death by her husband, James (Jimmy) Edward Shipwash; and her parents, Henry & Ruth Plemons Humphreys; sister, Jane McClure.

A host of extended family and friends who will miss her greatly.

The family would like to especially thank the dedicated medical staff at Roane Medical Center for their wonderful care and kindness given.

The family will receive friends 11:30 am – 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Shiloh Baptist Church with funeral service following at 1:00 pm, in the church sanctuary with son-in-law, Rob Viar officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Williams Family Cemetery in Ten Mile.  Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Shipwash, Jeff Shipwash, Ben West, Thomas Viar, Burt Hughes, Greg Hughes, and Jacob Viar.  Online register book can be signed at www.FrakerFuneralHome.net.  Fraker Funeral Home of Kingston is in charge of arrangements.
