PIGEON FORGE FIREFIGHTER DIES IN MOTORCYCLE CRASH
A Pigeon Forge firefighter died in a motorcycle crash Sunday night, according to the Pigeon Forge Fire Department.
The firefighter was identified as Aaron Huss, 20. Department representatives said he died in the crash on I-40 in Knox County.
“It is with heavy hearts that the Pigeon Forge Fire Department reports the sudden loss of our Firefighter, Aaron Huss, in an off-duty motorcycle accident last night,” the department said in a statement. “Firefighters are family, and that is especially true for the Pigeon Forge Fire Department. It has been an absolute honor and privilege to work alongside Firefighter Huss.”
The department went on to call Huss an exemplary employee.
Monday, the department, along with troopers from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, escorted Huss from the Knox County medical examiner’s office to a funeral home.
Also on Monday, THP said investigators are asking for public assistance regarding the crash. Officials said anyone with information or dash cam video of the incident is asked to call Sgt. Jonathan Scott at 865-544-3380.
