PILOT IN HELICOPTER MAKES EMERGENCY LANDING NEAR WALLAND

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is looking into the cause of an emergency helicopter landing in Blount County.

Officials say a Bell 206 helicopter landed yesterday afternoon in a field near Walland. The helicopter reportedly experienced an engine oil pressure issue causing engine failure.

The plane’s tail boom was snapped from the impact of the forced landing.

The FAA says six people were on board. No injuries were reported.

The helicopter was owned by RotorPro, LLC, an aircraft dealership in Sevierville.
