PLANE CRASH IN MCMINN COUNTY KILLS PILOT

The pilot of a small plane died after the aircraft crashed in McMinn County yesterday afternoon. The Federal Aviation Administration reports the Quad City Challenger II plane went down in a field in Niota. The reason is unknown at this time. Only the pilot was aboard and he is identified as Timothy W. Williamson of Loudon County. The National Transportation Safety Board is in charge of the investigation. The aircraft was owned by Fred Rainey of Harriman.
