Volunteer Energy Cooperative says there is a planned power outage scheduled for Monday, April 1, starting at 3 p.m. Central in the Jamestown service area in Fentress County.

The outage will affect members who receive power from the Grimsley Electric Substation.

Officials say 3,861 homes and businesses will be without power for approximately 1 hour.

The outage is needed for their line workers to safely make upgrades to the 69kV transmission circuit that supplies power to the substation.
