POLICE OFFICER IN MCMINN COUNTY PLACED ON LEAVE AFTER INCIDENT INVOLVING INJURY OF CHILD

McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy says an officer with the Englewood Police Department is on a unpaid leave and an investigation is underway involving an injury to a 2-year-old child. Twenty-five-year-old Matthew Williams was charged this week with reckless endangerment after investigators were notified of a possible child abuse case involving Williams at a home on Rose Drive. Detectives offered no further details regarding the incident. Williams was processed at the McMinn County Jail and later released on bond. A no contact order was also placed on Williams related to his wife and the child.
