POLICE PURSUIT ENDS IN THE RINNIE COMMUNITY

On 1/25/23 around 8:45 PM, officers noticed a maroon Ford truck turning onto North Lowe Road in Cumberland County. The tag light was not properly illuminated, and originally looked as if it did not have a tag displayed at all. When initiating a traffic stop, the vehicle took an immediate turn onto Farmer Road and accelerated speed.

The deputy called pursuit on the vehicle as he was following it, when it took a sharp left turn onto a dirt path, possibly a four-wheeler trail, at the end of Farmer Road. The deputy pursued the truck for several miles at a high rate of speed, until they eventually both had to stop due to a pond at the end of the trail.

After the deputy exited his patrol unit, a male subject exited out of the passenger door of the truck and took off running. Another deputy arrived on the scene and was able to assist in pursuing the male subject through the woods on foot. After deploying a taser, the male subject was detained.

32-year-old Christopher Kenneth Miller stated to the deputies he was driving the truck and had a female with him. The passenger had remained in the truck and was identified as Julie Norris. She confirmed that “Bubba”, Christopher Miller, was driving the vehicle.

While searching Christopher, 2 and 1/4 of orange round pills, identified as Suboxone, were found on his person.

Christopher Miller was charged with:

  • Evading Arrest
  • Driving on Revoked/Suspended License
  • Simple Possession
  • Evading Arrest
