POLICE: PUTNAM COUNTY MAN ARRESTED AFTER TRYING TO STAB DOG

TBI REVEALS SUSPECT IN OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING IN RUTHERFORD COUNTY

A Putnam County man has been charged with aggravated assault after allegedly trying to stab a dog. Officers say 49-year-old Charles Bates of Cookeville attempted to attack the canine on the 1800 block of North Dixie Avenue. Bates sustained injuries to his head after a confrontation with others on the scene protecting the dog. He was taken to the Cookeville Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The dog was not hurt in this incident.
