An Overton County man appeared in criminal court yesterday charged with sex crimes. An investigation by the TBI lead to indictments against Clayton Wesley Copeland for aggravated sexual battery and aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. During the investigation, officers developed information that identified Copeland as the individual responsible for the crimes against the minor. In court yesterday, court officials say the judge reset the case with a possible trial to start April 1, 2020.
