Volunteer Energy Cooperative (VEC) says a power outage (as of 8:30 a.m. eastern) in Rhea County involves 630 members. A large tree fell on a three phase line in the Shut-in area of Spring City. Large machinery has been brought in to work on the safe removal of the tree. Numerous members are still without power at this time. VEC does not have an estimate about when full restoration will occur as of 8:30 a.m. this morning.
