POWER RESTORED TO PARTS OF SPARTA FROM HIGH WINDS
Sparta Electric and Service Electric crews worked hard yesterday, replacing broken wooden utility poles with steel poles to upgrade the power system.
The poles were broken by high winds before sunrise yesterday morning.
Sparta Mayor Jerry Lowery said this was one of the longest power outages in a long time within the city limits. The wind took out critical poles and lines.
Power crews were on the job for 18 hours working on this outage.
