PROPOSED BILL IN TENNESSE WOULD CREATE REGISTRY FOR REPEAT DUI OFFENDERS
Tennessee State Representative Glen Casada and Senator Todd Gardenhire introduced a bill calling for a statewide registry, similar to the sex offender registry, for repeat DUI offenders. The proposed bill will be discussed by the Senate Judiciary Committee today. If passed, the bill would create a public DUI registry that lists any person convicted of two or more DUIs. Casada says the registry could help courts share information and create accountability with offenders.
