PROPOSED BILL IN TENNESSEE WOULD ELIMINATE TAXES ON DIAPERS AND WIPES

A bill introduced to lawmakers in Tennessee would eliminate sales taxes on diapers and wipes. State Bill 1905 was filed by Senator Katrina Robinson and passed on first consideration in the Tennessee Senate. Under the bill, no tax would be imposed on the sale or use of diapers and wipes designed to be used by infants and children. The bill, if given final approval, would go into effect July 1, 2020.
