PROPOSED TENNESSEE BILL WOULD FINE GUN OWNERS FOR NOT REPORTING LOST OR STOLEN FIREARMS

A proposed Tennessee bill would punish gun owners who do not report their gun has been lost or stolen within a specific amount of time.

House Bill 1592 and State Bill 2957 state the gun owner would have 24 hours to report the loss or theft to law enforcement or risk facing a fine.

The bill states a violation would be punishable only by a fine of up to $500.
