PUTNAM COUNTY DEPUTIES STOP BURGLARY IN PROGRESS

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office was notified yesterday morning of a burglary in progress in the Brookstone subdivision.

Thanks to an alert from a homeowner, deputies were able to identify, locate and take into custody 21-year-old Makayla C. Bean of Cookeville, 23-year-old Michael W. Flanigan of Cookeville, 22-year-old Carmella L. Nowak of Gainesboro, and 26-year-old Shunton C. Reed of Cookeville. Flanigan and Reed have previous felony warrants for theft and aggravated burglary in addition to yesterday’s charges.

The subjects were found with a white van that had been reported stolen from the Praise Cathedral Church of God located in Putnam County. These individuals have been booked into the Putnam County Jail a combined number of 42 times.

Deputies were able to recover some stolen items from previous burglaries and thefts that have occurred in the Cookeville City and Putnam County area.

The investigation is ongoing, and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is asking for residents in the area to inspect their vehicles, out buildings and residences to see if they may have also been burglarized yesterday. If you believe your property has been entered or tampered with, please contact Putnam County Sheriff’s Department Detective Craig Capps at (931) 528-8484 ext. 3239.
