The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department terminated the employment of an officer after he was arrested Sunday. Authorities say Deputy Chad Martin was arrested by Cookeville Police for DUI and possession of a handgun while under the influence. The report states while driving his off duty vehicle,  Martin was involved in a single vehicle accident at 1099 East 10th Street and Fisk Road in Cookeville.

Chad Martin has been a deputy with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office since 2014.
