WALMART TO REQUIRE ALL CUSTOMERS TO WEAR MASKS INSIDE STORES DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Walmart will very soon require all customers to wear masks while inside their stores during the coronavirus pandemic.

The change will start Monday, July 20, 2020 to allow time to inform stores and customers. The Bentonville, Arkansas-based company said that currently about 65% its more than 5,000 stores and clubs are located in areas where there is already some form of government mandate on face coverings.

The retailer also said it will create the role of health ambassador at its Walmart stores and will station them near the entrance to remind customers without masks of its new requirements. These workers, who will be wearing black polo shirts, will receive special training to “help make the process as smooth as possible for customers.” The ambassadors will work with customers who show up at a store without a face covering to try and find a solution. Walmart is currently considering different solutions for customers when this requirement takes effect.
