At approximately 10:15 Tuesday morning, a Putnam County EMS ambulance was transporting a patient back to Cookeville after being taken for a doctor’s appointment out of the county. While transporting, the ambulance was involved in a multi-vehicle collision and received moderate damage to the rear of the vehicle. No injuries were reported in the other vehicles. EMS Crew also sustained no injuries. The patient that was being transported by Putnam County EMS was evaluated for a minor arm injury and transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center by Smith County EMS for further evaluation. The cause of the accident is undergoing investigation by Tennessee Highway Patrol.
