PUTNAM COUNTY RESCUE SQUAD RESPONDS TO KAYAK INCIDENT NEAR BURGESS FALLS
Two kayakers were rescued Wednesday night after becoming stranded approximately a quarter-mile downstream from Burgess Falls.
According to the Putnam County Rescue Squad, one of the kayakers took on water and their vessel sank. Both individuals managed to reach the shoreline safely using the remaining kayak before calling for assistance.
Rescue personnel responded to the scene and successfully guided everyone out of the area safely. No injuries were reported.
