PUTNAM COUNTY ROPE TEAM SAVES MAN LOST IN CAVE FOR TWO DAYS

From the official Facebook page of the Putnam County Rescue Squad:
The Rope Rescue Team spent their Saturday afternoon completing a cave rescue in Clay County. Clay County Emergency Management Agency requested the team to respond for an adult male lost inside a cave just outside Celina, TN.
Rescue technicians entered the cave with Clay EMA and made contact with the uninjured male who reported he had been in the cave for two days, since he got lost after his flashlight died during a routine exploration.
Clay County EMA Director Kyle Haney said, “I’m thankful to have the help from neighboring county EMA’s and specialized rescue teams in the Upper Cumberland.”
All rescuers and the victim exited the cave safely at 4:08pm, just as rain was beginning to fall on the area.
Rescue Squad Assistant Chief David Anderson expressed his appreciation as well, “We are blessed in Putnam County, and the Upper Cumberland, to have dedicated volunteers who drop what they’re doing to help others in need. I am proud of our rope team for all the time they put in to be ready for days like today.”
