A Putnam County woman lost her life in a house fire yesterday. The Baxter Fire Department and Putnam County Fire Department responded to the blaze at 528 Buffalo Valley Road in the Baxter community. An adult male was able to escape but a woman and a dog inside did not. A cause of the fire is under investigation. The name of the female was not initially released.
