Posted by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office:
Sheriff Eddie Farris is saddened to announce the passing of one of our own, Lieutenant Randy Brown, age 64, who passed away today as he was undergoing a major operation.
Lt. Brown dedicated three decades of service to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. He began his career on September 6, 1996, as a Corrections Deputy. In 2003, he graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy and transitioned to a Patrol Deputy. In 2014, Lt. Brown became a School Resource Deputy, serving the students and staff of Prescott Middle School and then Burks Middle School. Due to age requirements, he returned to the Corrections Division in 2023, where he served as a Lt. over Inmate Transportation.
Please keep his wife, Sgt. Kim Brown, who is also a Deputy of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, in your prayers, along with his children: Emma Herron, Taylor Sauceman, and Jarrett (Amanda) Sauceman. As well as his sisters, Pam, Tammie, and Beverly, and the rest of the family. Lt. Brown will be blissfully reunited in heaven with his late daughter, Autumn Brown, who passed away on September 28, 2023.
Sheriff Farris said, “Lt. Randy Brown gave outstanding service to this County and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Throughout his career he served in multiple roles and always carried himself with professionalism, integrity, and compassion. Randy was not only an exemplary Deputy, but also a longtime friend to many in Putnam County.”
Lt. Brown’s dedication, compassion, and service will never be forgotten. He will always remain a valued member of the PCSO family.
