Around 2:52 pm Sunday, Monterey police officers were patrolling the area of Hwy 62 and Old Walton Road. Sgt. Beard encountered a black Ford Ranger driving recklessly on Old Walton Road and recognized the driver as Danny Johnson and knew his driver’s license was revoked. While attempting to make a traffic stop, the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed through a residential area. Mr. Johnson led officers on a short pursuit before speeding into a driveway and through a yard dangerously close to a residence where he then jumped out on foot. Officers quickly took him into custody and recovered drug paraphernalia from the vehicle.

Mr. Johnson is currently being held on bond at the Putnam County Jail awaiting court.
